Shenzhen Airlines Expands To 82 Aircraft
Shenzhen Airlines has announced that it has taken delivery of three aircraft within one week to increase the size of its fleet from 33 at the end of 2005 to the current 82, a twofold increase in less than three years.
Shenzhen Airlines is expected to increase of the size of its fleet to 100 aircraft by the end of this year. With additional aircraft, the company has increased the number of flights on the route from Shenzhen to Wuxi from the original once a day to two a day and the number of flights on the route from Guangzhou to Wuxi has been increased to three a day. On average Shenzhen Airlines operates two to four flights from Shenzhen and Guangzhou to the company's other bases around China. Shenzhen Airlines arranged four to five aircraft at its Nanning and Wuxi base. Shenzhen as the headquarters of the company keeps more than a 30% of market share.
At present, Shenzhen Airlines has set up eight base companies in Nanning, Wuxi, Guangzhou, Changzhou, Shenyang, Zhengzhou, Xishuangbanna, and Jinan. Its total capital has expanded from over RMB5 billion at the end of 2005 to approximately RMB20 billion today.
