Guangxi Baise Airport Reopens

After being closed for approximately one year Baise Airport reopened on April 28.

The airport which initially opened at the end of 2006 and closed about a year later is 48 kilometers from Baise's downtown areas. It is positioned as a domestic regional airport, and a joint-use civil and military airport. The airport can meet the requirements for take-off and landing of Boeing 737s or smaller aircraft.

According to local media, upon reopening the airport opened two routes from Baise, to Guilin and to Guangzhou.

Guangxi Airport Management Group which is the operating and managing party of Baise Airport said that after Baise Airport opened the two round-trip flights between Baise and Guilin and Guangzhou, the group plans to provide regional flights at Liuzhou Airport within this year to form an airport network system with six airports in Guilin, Nanning, Liuzhou, Beihai, Wuzhou, and Baise in order to offer better services for the tourism and logistics development of Guangxi Beibu Bay Economic Area.
