CNTA Sets Up Work Plan For 2008 Olympic Tours

To create a good tourism environment for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and to provide a favorable base for tourism development after that, the China National Tourism Administration has issued a work plan for 2008 Olympic tours.

The notice regulates that the whole tourism industry should follow the working assignment of government, State Council and BOCOG, focusing on Olympic tours. CNTA and overseas tour offices must use the unified themes of the 2008 Chinese Olympic Tour Year or slogans when they organize promotions abroad. Meanwhile, tourism departments are asked to strengthen software and hardware facilities to improve tourism service quality. According to the service quality requirement of Olympic tours, hotels, travel agencies and tourist attractions should actually ensure the tour service quality during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

In addition, an information publicity system of Olympic tour quality should be established to enforce the ability of handling the tour complaints. To enhance tour security, the work plan also requires a regular information flow, emergency preparedness and alert services. As a result of this, Beijing will open information channels with six major cities' tourism departments to address the security issues  in a timely and accurate way.
