Northwest Airlines To Open New Nonstop Routes From China To U.S.
Northwest Airlines has announced that it will open two daily nonstop routes from China to the U.S. to expand its flight network across the Pacific Ocean.
From March 1st 2009, the company will formally open a daily nonstop route from Beijing to Seattle. The flight services provided by Northwest Airlines and its code sharing partners will offer passengers more convenience for traveling between Beijing and Seattle as well as to other cities in the US. The new service will be operated using Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 32 business seats and 211 economy seats. The flight will depart from Beijing at 22:55, arriving at Seattle at 18:35; the return flight will leave from Seattle at 16:55, and arrive at Beijing at 20:35 the flowing day.
Another new daily nonstop route from Shanghai to Detroit will also be launched in March 2009. The service will be operated using 747-400 aircraft. The flight will depart from Shanghai at 8:45, arriving at Detroit at 10:25; the return flight will leave from Detroit at 15:45, and arrive at Shanghai at 18:30 the flowing day.
In addition, Northwest Airlines will continue to operate daily flights between Tokyo and Beijing and Shanghai to provide more flight options for passengers between China and North America.
