Shanghai Remembers Victims of Sichuan Earthquake
The St. Regis Shanghai donated more than RMB70,000 to aid in the relief efforts for the victims of the Sichuan earthquake.
To pay their respects, the staff from The St. Regis Shanghai, led by top management of the hotel, lined up with bowed heads for three minutes to mourn the tens of thousands who died in the earthquake. The hotel's donation was delivered to Shanghai Charity Fund on May 16.
Top management of The St. Regis Shanghai joined the mourning, including Lin Lichun, general manager of property company of The St. Regis Shanghai; Amanda Lee Elder, newly appointed general manager of the hotel; and Xu Lianxi, vice manager and trade union chairman of The St. Regis Shanghai. In that moment of mourning, air raid sirens, as well as cars, trains and ship horns wailed around the country. Facing the half-mast national flag, all the staff from the hotel stood in silence.
