Macau, Zhongshan, Zhuhai Joint Tour Promotion In South Korea

For the first time, Macau, Zhongshan, and Zhuhai have cooperated to organize promotional activities in South Korea.

At the Korea World Travel Fair held in Seoul this June, Macau Government Tourist Office as this year's chairman of the "Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Macau Tourism Departments Regional Cooperation" invited Zhongshan and Zhuhai to participate in this meeting. To take advantage of this opportunity, the three parties organized a series of promotions to aid the development of their tourism sectors.

The tourism bureaus of Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Macau sent a total of 50 delegates to Seoul to participate in the travel fair. Of these more than 20 members of Macau's tourism industry were from hotels, travel agencies and transportation companies. During the four-day event, the tourism delegation from the three cities held a destination promotion seminar providing a platform for dialog with South Korean tourism organizations. In addition, Macau, Zhongshan, and Zhuhai also had a group presence in the Macau booth.

In the first four months of 2008, South Korea has shot up to be the fifth largest source market of Macau with the number of South Korean tourists to Macau exceeding 110,000, an increase of about 58%.
