Hawaii Establishes New China Travel Office In Beijing

The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau has established a new office in Beijing.

This is the bureau's second organ in China after it set up its office in Shanghai on January 1, 2004.

Hawaii Tourism Authority told local media that since Hawaii established its tourism promotional organ in Shanghai, it has brought lots of updated information of destinations to Chinese customers, medias and tourism industry and run a series of promotional activities in China, which greatly enhanced Hawaii's awareness as tour destination. As a result the number of Chinese tourists to Hawaii increased year on year.

Following the memorandum of understanding on tourism signed between China and the U.S. in December 2007, the Hawaii government saw the Chinese outbound market as a high potential market and decided to set up an office in Beijing to strengthen the promotions in China. The newly built Beijing office together with its Shanghai office aimed to meet various requirement of fast growing tourism market in China.
