Detailed Regulations For Chinese Mainland Tourist Groups To Taiwan
The Cross-Strait Tourism Association has issued guidelines for Chinese mainland citizens traveling to Taiwan, and the management measures for name lists of tour leaders and tourists on Chinese mainland organized Taiwan tour groups.
The guidelines say that the tour organizers are required to conclude tour contracts with tourists from mainland China to travel to Taiwan. A tour contract shall include such contents as the start and end times, itineraries, price, accommodation, and standard transportation arrangements, travel insurance, and liabilities for breach of contract. A travel agency operating Taiwan tour business shall abide by the tour contract and is not allowed to change the schedules, nor to reduce the tour items, as well as to force tourists to participate in chargeable items outside the scope of the contract. Chinese mainland citizens must hold a valid entry permit to Taiwan and a tourist visa for traveling to Taiwan and returning from Taiwan in groups.
The guidelines also emphasize that the tour organizers are not permitted to organize Chinese mainland citizens to travel to Taiwan to engage in cross-strait exchanges and international activities in economic, cultural, health, scientific and technological, educational, religious, or academic fields in the name of Taiwan tours.
According to the total quota of Chinese mainland tourists that can travel to Taiwan, the Cross-Strait Tourism Association will print and produce a name list for Chinese mainland tour groups. If checked, the name list must not be randomly changed or added to by anyone.
