Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport Adds 30 Daily Flights
From July 1, 2008, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport has added 30 daily flights to meet the increasing demands of the summer market.
According to local media, as of June 15, the passenger flow of Chongqing airport had increased by 3.6%, and the number of flights went up by 4.5% compared to previous month. This July, the growth rates of flights on the routes from Chongqing to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen were relatively higher. Of these, the number of flights from Chongqing to Beijing was increased from the original 12 a day to about 20 a day, while that for the other major routes between Chongqing and domestic business cities about 15 flights a day were added.
For tour routes, the number of flights on the Chongqing-Lhasa route was upped to three or four a day; the number on the Chongqing-Kunming route was increased to 20 a day; the number on the Chongqing-Lijiang route was upped to two or three a day; the Chongqing-Xishuangbanna route was increased to one or two a day; the Chongqing-Sanya-Haikou route was increased to five or six a day; the Chongqing-Urumqi route was increased to five or six a day; those on the routes from Chongqing to Xining, Yinchuan, and Lanzhou were upped to one or two a day; the Chongqing-Harbin route was increased to three a day; and those on each of routes from Chongqing to Dalian, Changchun, Jinan and Shenyang was increased to two or three a day.
In addition, the Chongqing-Jiuzhaigou route which has been suspended for one and a half months will be reopened soon.
