Nonstop Changchun-Hong Kong Route Reopens
The nonstop Changchun-Hong Kong route which had been suspended for three years has been formally reopened.
The Changchun Longjia International Airport begun to provide flights connecting with Hong Kong in 1992, however in 2005 the nonstop service between the two cities was suspended because of insufficient tourist sources. Due to customer demand from Hong Kong and Macau's industry and business, in 2008, Jilin provincial government offered its support for reopening the route to Hong Kong.
There is one round-trip nonstop Changchun-Hong Kong flight a week, on Thursdays, operated by the Jilin branch company of China Southern Airlines Company Limited. Together with two flights from Changchun to Hong Kong via Changsha on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the number of flights between Changchun and Hong Kong has increased to three a week.
