Sichuan Reopens Jiuzhaigou And Huanglong Attractions
The Sichuan Provincial Tourism Administration has announced that following approval from the Sichuan provincial government, the third batch of tourism markets in the province including Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, have reopened from August 6, 2008.
These reopened tourism markets also include the Tianquan Laba River in Yaan, the Dongla Mountain in Baoxing, and the Tibetan Ethnic Village in Qiaoqi. This is an important sign to revive the whole tourism market in Sichuan after the devastating earthquake in May 2008.
Among 21 cities or autonomous prefectures around Sichuan, 15 including Zigong, Panzhihua, Luzhou, Suining, Neijiang, Leshan, Nanchong, Yibin, Guangan, Dazhou, Bazhong, Meishan, Ziyang, Liangshan, and Yaan have been completely reopened; while six including Chengdu, Deyang, Mianyang, Guangyuan, Ganzi, and Aba were partly restarted.
Currently, more than ten hotels in the Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong scenic areas can provide a total of about 5,000 beds; the Jiuhuang Airport is operating ten flights a day.
