Tibet Implements Domestic Organized Tour Contract System
To regulate its tourism market, protect the legal rights and interests of tourists visiting to Tibet, and to encourage the health and standards of its tourism sector, Tibet has implemented a system of contracts for domestic organized tours.
Following the Chinese Citizens Outbound Travel Contract established by the China National Tourism Administration and the State Administration for Industry & Commerce, the Tourism Bureau of Tibet Autonomous Region has set up the contract criteria for domestic organized tour groups to Tibet. This has been approved by the Administration Bureau of Industry and Commerce of Tibet Autonomous Region.
The contents of the contract include the items and quality standards of services offered by travel agencies for each kind of tour group, chargeable items and standards, as well as the times of shopping at stores. This enables tourists intending to travel to Tibet know clearly their rights and interests, and avoids the travel agencies and tour guides violating the regulations.
