Shangri-La Qingdao Appoints Mark Heywood General Manager

Mark Heywood has been appointed general manager of the Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao.

Prior to coming to Qingdao he was general manager at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong.

Heywood has more than 37 years of hotel management experience and has worked with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts for 18 years. He joined the Shangri-La group in 1990 as resident manager of the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

He is a graduate in general hotel and catering management from Hollings College, Manchester and has attended various management and marketing programmes at Cornell Nanyang University, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Washington State University.
