Booking Of Guangzhou Hotels Not Hot For CIEF

According to the hotel industry and travel agencies in Guangzhou, room bookings for the 104th Chinese Import & Export Fair are below par.

CIEF will be held from October 15 this year, and for the first time it will be divided into three phases with all the exhibitions transferred to the Pazhou Complex. The first phase of the fair is from October 15 through October 19; the second phase from October 24 to October 28; and the third phase is from November 2 to November 6.

According to the hotels around Guangdong area, the booking volume for the first phase of CIEF is relatively higher, accounting for about 60% of the total. Most of customers have chosen to book high level hotels and three-star budget hotels. Meanwhile, the booking rates remained at the same level as the equivalent period last year, of these, the rates for three-star hotels are between CNY1,000 and CNY1,200 per night, while those for four-star hotels are between CNY1,500 and
CNY1,600, and those for five-star hotels were around CNY2,000. The overall rate for the third phase decreased to the same level as ordinary days.

GZL International Travel Service said that the booking volume for CIEF through their travel agencies increased by about 10% from the same period of last year, and the rates remained the same as last year; while the number of inbound tourists slightly decreased by 10-20%, and the rates also went down by 10-30%.
