Hotel Rates In Domestic Tour Cities Increase By 10%

According to travel agencies in Shanghai, some domestic tour cities have begun to increase their hotel rates from the beginning of November.

Data from Ctrip.com indicates that the rates of hotels in Sanya, Hangzhou and Xiamen have increased by different degrees. For example, from November 1, the booking rates of three-, four- and five-star hotels in Sanya averaged CNY250, CNY430, and CNY1,000 per room per night, an increase of about 10% from the previous month. And the average rates of five-star hotels in Hangzhou and Xiamen were about CNY750 on average, those for four-star hotels was about CNY400, and those for three-star hotels were CNY200: an increase compared to the period following the National Day holidays.

Tang Xiaofeng, senior director of the hotel business department of Ctrip.com, said that many companies would select these cities for holding annual meetings which will be allow hotels to maintain relatively high rates.
