Following China Southern Airlines' decrease of surcharges on its international flights, Air China and Hainan Airlines have also announced adjustments to the surcharges on international routes.
According to Ctrip.com, from November 10, Air China has decreased the surcharge on routes from China to Europe from the original CNY1,100 to CNY900, and that for routes from China to the Middle East was reduced from the original CNY1,100 to CNY550, a decrease of about 50%.
From November 11 2008, Hainan Airlines decreased the surcharge on its Europe routes from the original CNY1,100 to CNY900.
In addition, from November 15, Garuda Indonesia decreased the surcharge for a single flight on the Beijing-Singapore route from the original CNY720 to CNY690, while that for the roundtrip flight went down from CNY1,440 to CNY1,370. On the route between Beijing and Jakarta, the surcharge was dropped from CNY960 to CNY860 for a single flight, while that for a roundtrip flight decreased from CNY1,920 to CNY1,710.
