A delegation of state travel directors and marketing officials from Travel South USA recently visited China for a 10-day promotional tour.
This is reportedly the first time that a delegation from Travel South USA has visited China to develop business in the Chinese tourism market.
The travel representatives from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina in the southern United States, met and negotiated with Chinese government officials from provincial tourism bureaus, travel industry media, and travel service providers around China to discuss cooperation and development of new tourism projects.
The itinerary of the Travel South USA delegation included an official reception in Beijing, business meetings, participation in the US-China State Tourism Summit and the China International Travel Mart 2008 held in Shanghai.
