Grand Hyatt Shanghai Welcomes New General Manager

Chris Koehler has been appointed general manager of Grand Hyatt Shanghai and area vice president.

Koehler, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York, joined Hyatt Regency Manila as executive chef in January 1988, and following further appointments in Taipei and Osaka was transferred to Grand Hyatt Shanghai as executive assistant manager for food and beverage. While there he was promoted to resident manager in April 2000, and then to manager in January 2003. He was appointed general manager of Grand Hyatt Beijing in May 2004, and subsequently as area vice president for North China in January 2008.
