Hainan Sets Up Association For Tourist Scenic Spots

The Tourist Scenic Spots Sub-group of the Hainan Provincial Tourism Association has been formally established in Haikou, Hainan.

Lu Zhiyuan, director of Hainan Provincial Tourism Bureau, says that the Tourist Scenic Spots Sub-group will provide a comprehensive service for the planning, construction and management of scenic spots and undertake some tasks transferred by the government.

According to Chen Yao, the deputy director of HPTB, there are a total of 72 scenic spots in Hainan, including two 5A scenic spots and nine 4A scenic spots. Chen says that HPTB will transfer its task in scenic spot management to the Tourism Scenic Spots Sub-group and encourage each scenic spot to establish its own travel agency to explore the market.
