Yu Jianmin, deputy director of Dongguan Municipal Tourism Bureau, has told local media that Dongguan has great potential for incentive travel, but it needs to improve its reception capacity before fully developing within the sector.
Yu said that DMTB attaches great importance to the establishment of the Incentive Travel Commission of the China Comfort Travel Group in Dongguan and plans to take the opportunity to promote the city's incentive travel resources. Zhuang Guodong, the director of the Dongguan Comfort Travel Operation Center, said that they are targeting meeting groups, industry visitor groups, city planners, tourist groups, and national leisure travel groups as their potential clients. After the commission is established, they will promote Dongguan as an incentive travel destination to the whole country.
According to Yu, Dongguan will organize high-end training for the city's tour guides and host a tour guide competition to improve the quality of tour guides as part of the measures to improve its reception capacity.
Guodong says the advantages of incentive travel lie in large scale, long stays, high-end clients, and high profit margins.
