News from the 85th session of the World Tourism Organization Executive Council held in Bamako, Mali, is that China will host the World Tourism Day in 2010.
The theme of the 2010 World Tourism Day will be tourism and biological diversity. The session reviewed and assessed the general program of UNWTO's work from 2008 to 2009, and determined the budget and general program for the year 2010 to 2011. In addition, the session recommended that Taleb Rifai be secretary-general for the four-year-period starting January 2010.
These resolutions above will be presented for ratification by the UNWTO General Assembly, meeting during the first week of October in Astana, Kazakhstan.
