Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, has announced new general managers for several of its China-based properties which are currently under development.
Hans Hordijk has been appointed as the general manager of Fairmont Beijing, and will oversee the opening of this new hotel project, in the city's central business district. Hordijk has more than 20 years experience in the hotel industry firstly with the Hilton Group in London and then at The Dorchester and The Peninsula Group, before moving on to become the general manager of The Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur, India. Most recently, Hordijk served as the vice president of Echelon Resorts, Las Vegas.
Philip Smith has been appointed as the general manager of Fairmont Yangcheng Lake, Kunshan. Most recently Smith was the general manager at Canada's seaside Fairmont Algonquin, and has also held a series of management positions at other Fairmont properties including the mountain resorts The Fairmont Banff Springs and The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
Kamal Naamani has been appointed as the general manager of the Fairmont Peace Hotel, Shanghai where he will lead the restoration and reopening of the iconic hotel. Earlier in his career Naamani was part of the 2001 pre-opening team for Fairmont Dubai and become the property's general manager five years later.
