New Appointments At InterContinental Shanghai Expo

Two top executives, the general manager and the director of sales and marketing, have been appointed to the management team of the InterContinental Shanghai Expo hotel.

Michel Koopman has been appointed general manager of the InterContinental Shanghai Expo. This is in addition to his current position as regional general manager of InterContinental Hotels Group in Shanghai. He began his career as an hotelier in 1984 at the Amsterdam Hilton. In 1990, he joined Hyatt International working in Serbia, Indonesia, Japan and Australia. Prior to joining the InterContinental Shanghai Expo, Koopman was the general manager at the InterContinental Shanghai Pudong as well as regional general manager of IHG in Shanghai.

Jenny Soo has been appointed director of sales and marketing of InterContinental Shanghai Expo. This is her second appointment in Shanghai with IHG. She has over 25 years experience in the hospitality and tourism industry in the Asia Pacific region with international hotel brands including Hilton, Beaufort Hotels and Accor. Prior to her current position Soo opened the Crowne Plaza Century Park Shanghai where she was the director of sales and Marketing.
