Two Top Managers Appointed At Westin Tianjin

The Westin Tianjin, which is scheduled to open at the end of 2009, has appointed Sunny Heng as general manager and Christian Metzner as director of sales and marketing.

A hotelier with more than 30 years of professional working and management experience, Heng recently transferred from The Sheraton Tianjin Hotel where he had held the position of general manager for the last six years. He has worked with Starwood Hotels and Resorts for 18 years, starting in 1991 as director of food and beverage at The Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort. Originally from Malaysia, Heng studied business management at the Bond University in Australia and he lists his hobbies as golf and deep-sea fishing.

Originally from Germany, Metzner brings more than 10 years of professional working and management experience in the hospitality industry to his new role. His previous post was at The Westin Beijing Financial Street, where he was part of the opening team in 2006, as director of revenue management. Prior to his appointment in Beijing he was in charge of four hotels as cluster revenue manager for The ArabellaSheraton Complex South Germany.
