Accor Makes Its Taiwan Debut

The Accor Group has opened its first hotel in Taiwan: the new Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport.

Located at Taiwan's busiest international airport, the 360-room Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport is located just a few minutes away from the airport terminal building.

Guests have free access to WiFi in public areas, and rooms are equipped with LCD flat screens with an extensive international selection of TV channels. Design elements in the rooms include rain showers and anti-mist mirrors, dedicated flexible workspaces with high-speed Internet connections, and an in-room safe large enough for a laptop. Guests staying on the Executive Premier Floor can access the executive lounge which offers additional benefits.

For golf fanatics the hotel is close to Meilihua Miramar Golf resort and the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle bus to Taoyuan City, home to many important industrial parks, which is a 15 minute ride away.

All guests can stay connected with the hotel's "Web Corner on a Mac," a comfortable space outfitted with user-friendly Apple iMacs and a full service business centre is available. For conferences or meetings, the hotel offers a 488 square meter pillar-free grand ballroom and five additional meeting rooms with natural light with one-touch control panels for lighting, sound, and multi-media equipment.

As well as meeting facilities and the latest technology, the hotel offers leisure services such as the In Balance fitness gym filled with the latest exercise equipment, a steam room, sauna, and an indoor swimming pool.

For food and beverage The Square is the Novotel brand's flagship F&B offering in Asia, which serves specialties from Asia are served alongside European dishes, together with new world cuisine from the Americas and Australia.

As well as The Square, the hotel has a Chinese restaurant The Wei with private dining rooms and two bars: Q Bar in the lobby and O2 Bar by the swimming pool.

According to Robert Murray, the senior vice president of Accor Greater China, the opening of Accor's first hotel in Taiwan illustrates the strategic importance the group attaches to the Greater China region; adding that, since both mainland China and Taiwan are strengthening cooperation to boost tourism development, more and more Chinese tourists will travel to Taiwan.
