Eaton Hotels International recently announced in Shanghai that it had signed three agreements with the Greenland Group and its upscale Eaton Luxe and midscale Eaton Smart brands will enter mainland China.
The first Eaton Hotels project will be the upscale Eaton Luxe, Nanqiao, which will open in 2010. The hotel will be located in the heart of southern Shanghai's fast-growing business district. This will be followed by the opening of Eaton Luxe Xinqiao, Shanghai in 2011, and then by opening of the midscale Eaton Smart, Honggutan, Nanchang in Jiangxi province.
Eaton Luxe, Nanqiao will offer 204 guest rooms and suites, while its sister hotel Eaton Luxe, Xinqiao will have 250 rooms and suites and is also expected to open in 2011.
The first Eaton Luxe will form the vanguard of the development of around 10 properties within the next five years in Asia.
