Taiwan Aims To Attract 4.8 Million Tourists In 2010
The Central News Agency reports that Taiwan Tourism Bureau has published its plan for 2010 and will aim to develop 100 linked tourist routes to attract 4.8 million tourists in 2010 and over five million in 2011.
According to the plan, the bureau will focus on 100 linked routes, the original Taiwan, and boutique value-added services to plan a series of activities such as the Taiwan Lantern Festival and the Taiwan Hot Spring Fine-Cuisine Carnival. The 100 routes will feature ten different tourism elements and will be chosen by a work group organized by the bureau.
Taiwan's Premier Wu Den-yih commented enthusiastically on this work plan saying a good tourism environment needs the joint efforts of many departments in Taiwan, including immigration service at international airports and an update of road signs.
