Northwestern China Cities Form Tourism Collaboration

At the China Tourism Association Tourist City (Northwest) Collaborative Meeting, which was held recently in Xi'an, the 30 participating cities jointly announced they had formed the China Outstanding Tourist City (Northwest) Collaboration.

This organization will launch a series of actions such as promoting barrier-free travel, distributing each other's promotional materials, establishing links to each others' travel sites, jointly conducting promotional activities and jointly developing tourist products. Meanwhile, the 30 cities will organize visits by citizens to other member cities through "the Northwest visiting the Northwest" project. They will also cooperate on setting up tourism complaint handling channels.

Interregional cooperation is a significant trend in worldwide economic and industrial development. There are many tourism cooperative or collaborative organizations across China. This new organization is expected to accelerate the development of tourism industries of tourist cities in northwestern China.
