National Yacht Club Alliance Formed In Haikou
Following a proposal by the Cruise and Yacht Branch of the China Communications and Transportation Association, 21 yacht clubs from all over China have formed the National Yacht Club Alliance in Haikou, the capital city of Hainan province.
According to Qian Yongchang, the president of CCTA, along with the economic development of China and the improvement of people's living standards, the consumer demand for yachting has also increased.
Currently there are about 55 yacht clubs in Chinese coastal cities. Yet there are still some bottlenecks that hinder the development of the industry, such as rules governing yacht navigation, construction standards, and the training of yachtsman. To address these issues the alliance would gather these clubs together to discuss the problems they confronting then communicate their needs to the government to find solutions, Qian added.
The alliance is expected to form an important channel for communication between the government and the yachting industry.
