Henan Sets Up Travel Agency Association

The Henan Tourism Association Travel Agency Branch has been set up in Zhengzhou.

Travel agencies are the major force to drive the development of tourism industry and play an important role in guiding tourist flow, promoting market development and providing services. Currently Henan has 1,087 travel agencies with more than 10,000 employees. Yet agencies are now facing fierce competition with the expanding market size and the growing number of travel agencies which lead to a number of problems including price competition and zero or negative earnings. These problems have greatly impacted the service quality of agencies and the healthy development of the travel agency industry.

The association is expected to play a major role in strengthening industrial self regulation, maintaining market order and creating a good business environment for travel agencies.

The first 160 members to the association are all influential travel agencies in Henan.
