A group of 84 tourism-related units, including 24 well-known travel agencies from China and abroad, four airlines, 10 international brand hotels, 13 boutique scenic areas, and tourism administrative departments of 15 Chinese cities jointly announced the establishment of International Best Tourism Alliance in Dujiangyan, Chengdu.
The alliance has three parts, City Alliance, Travel Agency Alliance, and Airline, and Scenic Area and Hotel Alliance. The City Alliance will set up a coordination and cooperation mechanism between members to expand the tourism market through joint marketing. The members hope the International Best Tourism Alliance could be the best tourism service brand and the most famous international tourism marketing organization of China after three to five years' development.
It is reported the alliance will build an information sharing platform and launch tourism service advisory services in member cities. There will be a tourism investment program database that will be shared by all the members and will offer authoritative information on tourism investment to outbound investors.
As one of the important measures after the establishment of the alliance, Chengdu will issue Gold Panda Cards with a total value of CNY1 million to inbound tourists to stimulate the recovery of inbound tourism. The alliance will publish a magazine that introduces its members including tourism information about western China. The magazine will only be distributed outside China together with the Gold Panda Card.
