Beijing Tourism Sector Reports CNY128.4 Billion Revenue
Beijing, the capital city of China, is reporting tourism revenues of CNY128.4 billion for the first half of 2010: an increase of 14.4% over the same period in the previous year.
In the period from January to June 2010, the total number of tourist arrivals in the city increased by 8.2% year on year to a record 80.31 million.
A total of 2.317 million tourists stayed over in the city, despite the ongoing 2010 Shanghai World Expo and the remaining effects brought by the global financial crisis. Moreover, the growth rate was 17.3% higher than the best level achieved in the first half of 2007.
Beijing is one of the most famous cities in the whole of China and is home to some of the country's most outstanding tourist sights and temples.
