Beijing: Tourism Revenue Exceeded CNY700 Million Over Mid-Autumn Festival
According to Beijing Municipal Bureau of Tourism, the number of domestic tourists visiting the capital city hit 2.17 million during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival from September 22 to September 24, 2000.
Statistics released by the bureau show that the tourism generated revenue over the same period was CNY760.
In 2010 the tourism bureau has been promoting nature travel in Beijing for the first time. A "Nature Travel" themed tourism activity, which was held in Huairou District on the outskirts of Beijing, attracted 54,300 tourists during the three-day festival, and earned a tourism income of CNY7.68 million.
