China's Air Travel Passenger Volumes Up 16% In August

According to the Civial Aviation Administration of China, domestic airlines carried 26.3 million passengers in August 2010, up 16.1% year on year, while cargo traffic volumes rose 18.4% year on year to 463,200 tons.

CAAC said that passenger boardings on international routes rose 33.5% to 1.9 million while domestic passenger boardings rose 14.9% to 24.4 million.

Cross-strait routes recorded the highest growth of 139.5% in passenger boardings to 213,900.

In the first eight months of 2010, passenger volumes rose 17.8% to 178 million and cargo volume jumped 33.6% to 3.55 million tons.
