Turkish Airlines Increases Number Of China Flights
Turkish Airlines has announced major additions to its China service, with a plan to increase the frequency of flights to Beijing and Shanghai and to add a new route to Guangzhou.
From December 23, 2010 the airline will operate daily flights from Beijing to Istanbul, an increase over the previous five-a-week schedule and the Shanghai to Istanbul service will also become a daily service, although the exact date is still to be announced.
In addition to the daily flight schedule in Beijing and Shanghai, Turkish Airlines have also stated that they have received the final approval and will inaugurate a new service between Istanbul and Guangzhou on January 31, 2011. Preparations are being made to welcome the first flight to Guangzhou — Turkish Airlines' third destination in mainland China — and bookings are already being taken from agents and travelers throughout the Pearl River Delta region.
Veysel Tas, the new director of the Turkish Airlines Beijing office, commented that Beijing was Turkish Airlines’ first destination in China and that after many years of building awareness and trust with Chinese travelers, the airline was pleased to be offering daily flights to Istanbul, with excellent connections to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
