Xi'an International Horticultural Expo To Open On April 24
The Xi'an International Horticultural Exposition, which is scheduled to open on April 24, 2011 and close on October 22, is expected to become another important international event following the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
This is the third time that China has hosted the International Horticultural Exposition. The two previous expositions were held in Kunming in 1999 and in Shenyang in 2006.
The expo will has more than 105 participants from cities and organizations from home and abroad. It is estimated that it will welcome 12,000,000 visitors during the 178 days.
More than 5,000 events and performances will be held inside the exposition site. In addition a total of 17 seminars or annual sessions will be held, such as the Euro-Asia Economic Forum and the 63rd Annual Congress for AIPH (The International Association of Horticultural Producers) as well as six international competitions including the Flower Art Competition, six international shows, and six exhibitions for indoor flowers such as azaleas.
