Belgian Company Explores Hongze Tourism
News from Jiangsu Hongze County Government is that a Belgian company will invest EUR80 million to develop tourism in Hongze, mainly including an international-standard yacht harbor, a high-end hotel, and a yacht club.
The Belgian company had paid close attention to Hongze Lake's tourism resources, and has carried our several on-the-spot investigations. After preparatory work, including site selection and conceptual planning, the company has signed an investment agreement with the local government to accelerate the progress of its program.
Local government officials believe the international yacht harbor project will be a major event for Hongze's tourism industry.
Hongze Lake is the fourth largest freshwater lake in China, and Hongze Lake Wetland was designated by the State Council as a National Nature Reserve in 2006.
