Fairmont Yangcheng Lake To Open In October 2009
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced that the 200-room Fairmont Yangcheng Lake will open in October 2009 in Kunshan, a town situated in the southeastern part of Jiangsu between Shanghai and Suzhou.
Joining its sister hotel — the Fairmont Beijing — Fairmont Yangcheng Lake is located on the shores of the scenic Yang Cheng Lake, famed for a culinary delicacy: the hairy crab. The new hotel is owned by the Kunshan City Construction Investment Development Company and managed by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
The 200 guest rooms are equipped with flatscreen televisions, executive desks, high-speed Internet access, and most feature private balconies overlooking the lake. The bathrooms provide amenities by the London perfumer, Miller Harris.
Guests will be able to enjoy a variety of dining experiences, including a 2,000-square-meter signature Chinese restaurant featuring Cantonese cuisine and diverse Chinese specialties, as well as an all-day-dining restaurant serving international delicacies. Luwei, the lobby lounge, serves afternoon tea while Curve offers cocktails and live music in the evening.
Guests can relax in Willow Stream, Fairmont' s signature spa brand, a health club, and indoor or outdoor swimming pools.
For meetings and events planners have a choice of outdoor event sites and various indoor spaces including a 1,200 square meter grand ballroom overlooking the lake Fairmont offers planners the opportunity to incorporate environmental awareness and best practices into meetings though Eco-Meet. Eco-Meet is part of the company' s Green Partnership Program that is designed to reduce the hotels' impact on the environment by focusing on improvements in waste management, sustainability, energy and water conservation, and community outreach programs involving local groups and partnerships.
