Cathay Pacific Continues To Levy Fuel Surcharges

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited has gained approval from the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department for a two-month extension on passenger fuel surcharges.

From June 1, 2009, to July 31, 2009, the surcharge will be HKD52 for short-haul flights in North and Southeast Asia, and for long-haul flights it will remain at HKD239.

According to a spokesman of Cathay Pacific, the company's fuel surcharges are still lower than other international airlines on comparable routes outside Hong Kong.
