China's Tourism Revenue Reached CNY100.7 Billion During October Holiday
The National Holiday Office of China has published statistics for holiday travel over the October 1 National Day and Mid Autumn Festival period.
According to the report, China received a total of 228 million tourists during the holiday, of which 52.77 million were overnight tourists, and 176 million were day-trip visitors.
The 39 key tourist cities that are in the holiday forecast system–including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Xi'an–received 87.09 million tourists over the eight-day holiday. Of these 17.93 million were overnight stays and 69.16 million were day-trips.
According to the report, tourism revenues reached CNY100.7 billion, an increase of 26.4% compared with the National Day holiday in 2008, and average tourism revenues of the 39 cities hit CNY4.22 million while those of other tourist cities and scenic spots reached CNY5.18 million.
