Shenzhen Airport Signs MOU With German Partner
Shenzhen Airport Group and Central German Airports Group signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation at the 2010 China (Shenzhen) Logistics and Transportation Expo.
Under the MOU, the two airport operators will boost cooperation in exchanging information and visits, expanding aviation businesses, introducing strategic carriers and setting up strategic cooperation alliances, in a bid to promote Leipzig-Halle Airport and Shenzhen International Airport positions in in relation to each other's regional markets.
A senior officer at Shenzhen Airport said that the partnership with Central German Airports Group is part of Shenzhen Airport's efforts to expand its global business and pave a way for the launch of new route between the two sides.
Central German Airports Group, the operator of Germany's Leipzig-Halle Airport Dresden Klotzsche Airport, is a state-run company. In 2009, the two airports handled 4.14 million passengers and 525,000 tons of mail and cargo. The total number of aircraft take offs and landings was 94,900.
Shenzhen Airport is the fourth busiest airport in mainland China. In 2009, passenger traffic volume was 24.49 million and the cargo volume was 605,000 tons. There were 203,000 aircraft movements in 2009.
