Nine Chinese Airlines Join Hulunbeir Aviation Market
According to the Hulunbeir Tourism Bureau, nine Chinese airlines have joined the Hulunbeir aviation market.
The nine air companies include Air China, Hainan Airlines, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, and China United Airlines. Currently, Hailar in Hulunbeir has opened routes to Beijing, Huhhot, Harbin, Shenyang, Nanjing, Qinhuangdao, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shijiazhuang, Tianjin, Shanghai, Dalian, Ningbo, and Chita in Russia.
With the opening of new routes, Hulunbeir has formed a flight network connecting to Northeast China, the Yangtze River Delta Region, the Pearl River Delta Region, and Jing-Jin-Tang areas. The passenger flow through Hailar Airport has increased by 77%, ranking first place in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The tourism related departments of Hulunbeir plan to set up several international routes from Hunlunbeir to Russia, Mongolia, South Korea, and Japan as well as domestic routes to more provinces or cities in China.
According to the statistics, from January to May 2008, Hulunbeir welcomed a total of 1,487,800 international and domestic tourists, representing a growth rate of 18.4% year-on-year; its tourism revenue reached CNY1.596 billion, an increase of 20% compared to the same period of last year.
