Guangxi Hechi Civil Airport Obtains Approval
The National Development and Reform Commission has approved the feasibility study report for the construction of Guangxi Hechi Civil Airport.
The construction of this airport is scheduled to be completed by 2015 and it is designed to meet the requirement of handling 250,000 passengers and 1,600 tons of cargo annually. The airport will have a flying area to 4C level, a new 2,200 meter long and 45 meter wide runway, and a 2,500 square meter terminal building. The project is planned to have an investment of CNY550 million.
Located at the northwest of Guangxi, Hechi is a major gateway connecting the Southwest China to the coastal ports, east to Liuzhou, south to Nanning, west to Baise and north to Qiannan in Guizhou. According to local media, Hechi has more than 60 scenic areas or spots with another four different tourism areas under development.
