Occupancy Rate Of Hotels In Macau Decreased During Mid-Autumn Holiday

According to local media, during the Mid-Autumn holiday the occupancy rate of hotels in Macau decreased.

The average occupancy rate of three- and four-star hotels in the city went down greatly, with five-star hotels only reaching 60%, which is lower than on ordinary days.

Li Baolai, president of Macau Hotel Employees Association, said that although the hospitality industry had forecast the occupancy rate of Macau hotels would decrease during the holidays, the actual occupancy rate still was 5 to 10 percentage points lower than expected.

For the National Day golden week, the rates of hotels in Macau are expected to go up only slightly or to maintain the same level as ordinary weekends.
