Six East China Cities Launch Tour Products For World Expo
At a recent tourism promotion meeting held in Zhejiang, six major cities in the Yangtze River Delta launched new tour products targeting the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.
The six cities from two provinces, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, have integrated their local tour products to jointly launch an itinerary for tourists to the World Expo.
Xu Peng, vice director of Zhejiang Provincial Tourism Bureau, said that the 2010 World Expo is expected to attract 70 million domestic and international participants and visitors coming to Shanghai, of these 95% of the tourists from the areas outside Shanghai will require accommodation. It is reported that 38% of these tourists will stay on the Yangtze River Delta region for sightseeing, and about 90% of them will select the areas of Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The six-month World Expo will bring a direct economic stimulus to the attractions, hotels, restaurants, and leisure venues around the Yangtze River Delta region.
