Hong Kong Develops New Tour Products Links To Mainland China And Taiwan
James Tien, chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, told local media that Hong Kong will develop new multi-destination tour products connecting mainland China and Taiwan.
According to an agreement signed between mainland China and Taiwan the current arrangement for cross-strait weekend charter flights will be changed to regular flights starting on any day. To adapt to the new situation, Hong Kong will develop new multi-destination tour products between mainland China and Taiwan to attract more tourists to visit Hong Kong.
To promote Hong Kong tours in the Taiwanese market, HKTB also plans to set up an office in Taiwan and it will cooperate with the Taiwanese travel trade to develop new tour products — including to Macau and cities in Guangdong — to attract more Taiwanese visitors to travel to Hong Kong. Targeting the Chinese mainland market, HKTB hopes to provide a series of multi-destination itineraries including Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau for tourists in mainland China by taking advantage of the increasing flight frequency on cross-strait direct routes.
